Back to blogging......

It's time to get back to blogging. I have neglected this far too long. My first step was to update our family photo. The boys amaze me everyday. They are growing up so fast. Ian the baby is 3 and acts like he is 12. He is 100% a big boy now. Sleeps through the night, fully potty trained and sitting in a booster seat in the car. He is quite the Ladies man. He has them following him wherever he goes. I think his 2 favorites at the moment are Riley and Macie. He likes to give all of his sugar away to them. But he always saves some for his favorite girl, Mommy. Dalton is finding his way. There is a lot of truth to the middle child syndrome. He is definitely a mini Terrance in looks and abilities. He loves to work with Daddy. Santa Claus brought all the boys their own work gloves but only Dalton's are shredded from the amount of use. He is usually the first one up strapping on his mud boots to go out and work with Terrance. He earned his own tool, a level, and loves to use it. He is a great helper to me as well in the grocery store. Dalton is becoming an expert coupon shopper. Colin is wrapping up his year in Kindergarten. He has learned so much. My sweet baby rides the bus to and from school and does it with such Independence. I will admit I cried the first day he rode it but now I just watch in amazement as he turns and says "Bye Mom" and walks down the driveway himself. I had a laugh yesterday as I was cleaning out his book bag and found a phone number from a girl on his bus. Not sure I am ready to let these boys grow up just yet.
Terrance has a multitude of projects going on as usual. If we could only harness all of that ingenuity in his head into dollars we would be sitting pretty. His talent and skills are endless from maintaining the greenest grass around to fabricating a motorized wagon and in his spare time building a pole barn for the boat. He has spent much of this spring on the road traveling with work. We miss having him here but make the most of the time we do get with him.

It feels good to get an update out here and I will make it a priority to keep it up. Life is good in the Henry house, we are all happy, healthy and most definitely loved.

First Camping Trip

The Henry family went on our first camping trip this past weekend. We loaded up the tent, boat and supplies and headed over to Jordan Lake. We spent a fun filled weekend on the boat, roasting marshmallows and swatting bugs. The boys had a blast and Mom & Dad were even in total relax mode. We are looking forward to heading out for another trip soon.

The boys.

Everyday with these three is a new adventure. Dalton and Ian have settled into their life with Mommy. They love going to the gym with Mommy and playing with their new friends. They are becoming excellent shoppers and experts on all of the local playgrounds. Colin amazes me how well he is doing in school. He gets up everyday and puts on his backpack and goes into that big school all by himself. He has a great set of friends and is learning so many new things each day. We are coming to the end of the school year and getting ready for a fun filled summer. We have a camping excursion and trip to Jersey planned. We also have a lot a boating planned as well.

Soccer

Dalton and Colin had a wonderful soccer season this year. Dalton went from not moving during the first game to actively chasing the ball and scoring several goals for the other team. It was a lot of fun to watch his growth. He loves the game and is sad that he doesn't get to play right now. Colin has improved greatly as well. He has an excellent kick. They are all signed up for next season. By next spring maybe we will have 3 on the team.

The new boat!

We are very excited to be the proud new owners of a Pontoon Boat. We are loving every minute of it. The boys have ventured out on the tube with Daddy and have even tried a little fishing. Mommy is working on her driving skills as one has to manage the boat while the other deals with the trailer. It's a learning experience but a fun one. Can't wait to take all of our family and friends out for a ride.

New Year

The new year has started busy as usual. I have been very bad about updating since Christmas but I will work on getting everything up to date.
We spent the New Year at our neighbor's the Bethea's. We did not make it the entire night and brought the kids home about 11 and put them to bed. Things certainly change as they get older. We spent a lazy day the first of the year hanging out at home and ended the day with our traditional dinner of pork & sauerkraut. We anticipate a very happy & healthy new year.
The following weekend we made a trip to PA for Steve's annual cabin trip. Terrance and Colin joined the group this year. They had a fun boy's weekend with four wheeler's and new four letter words for Colin. Dalton, Ian and myself made the trip but stayed down at Great Grandma's in Hanover. We got to spend the weekend with Grandma as well.
This past week the boys got a shot of excitement in the form of snow. About 6 inches to be exact. Colin was out of school already so we didn't technically get a snow day. We had lots of fun playing in the snow with all of our new snow gear. Daddy even came home early and took the boys for a ride in the snow on the four wheeler. It was fun while it lasted but glad that we don't get it all the time.
We ended the month with a birthday celebration for Colin. 5 years old, it's amazing where time has gone. He had a fun filled weekend starting with spiderman cupcakes at lunch at school. Later that night it was the monster truck show with Daddy and Dalton. The next day, his actual birthday was a small party of a few of his friends to the movies. We saw Hotel for Dogs and then came home and celebrated with more spiderman cupcakes.
January was a fun filled month and now its onto February!

Santa has arrived.

There were some good boys in the Henry House this year. The boys and I read the Christmas story and put Cookies & Egg Nog (or Egg Milk as Dalton calls it) out for Santa. Then it was off to bed for Santa doesn't come until little boys are sleeping. Santa had to rearrange the furniture this year to accommodate all the gifts.
The boys were very excited in the morning to discover the Polar Express train under the tree. Colin went right to it and started it up. They then tackled their piles and did a great job unwrapping all of their presents. We had to keep on Dalton who wanted to play with everything he opened up. Colin zoomed through all of his unwrapping with record speed and Ian slowed down about the time he discovered chocolate in his stocking. He then tested out his new Lightning McQueen chair and ate his chocolate Santa.
Aunt Sara got to share in the excitement this year. After all of the unwrapping, and opening of boxes, they got right to playing with the endless amounts of trucks, tractor, trains & monster trucks. It's a boys world in this house for sure.
At this point we are enjoying the beautiful weather and relaxing day. Soon it will be time for Christmas ham and pineapple stuffing. Yum
